The Chinese text of the Southern Song dynasty work 'Zhu Fan Zhi' by Zhao Rukuo, on the Chinese and Arab Trade in the 12th and 13th Centuries. Zhao Rukuo was a Superintendent of Merchant Shipping in Fujian. The preface has a reign date equating to 1225. The work is also known as Chu-fan-chi and was first translated into English by F. Hirth and W. Rockhill and published in St. Petersburg in 1912. This work has a two-page postface in English by Rockhill dated Peking, 1914. Published in Tokyo. Ink annotation in English at top of title page, otherwise clean and in very good condition. Rare.
