Volume One ONLY (of 2 volumes). 260 paintings were selected from the imperial collection as well as from the owner of Youzheng Book Co., Mr Di Dengzi's, studio name Pingdengge (or Ping Teng Ko) collection. Preface dated 1909. Plate captions in Chinese and English. Of particular note are the 10 or so original colour woodblock prints.
 A total of 260 paintings were selected from the Chinese imperial collection as well as from the collection of the owner of Yu Chen (Youzheng) Book Company, a Mr Dih Ping Tsze (Di Dengzi), studio name Pingdengge. Also a number of works from other collections, for example, Tao Zhai. The paintings date from the Tang to the Qing. This Volume One (ONLY) covers the Tang, Song and Yuan dynasties, (Volume Two the Ming and Qing).
 The circa 130 colour plates in this Volume One, particularly the colour woodblock prints, are beautifully done and focus on Tang, Song and Yuan masterpieces. The original woodblock prints are all in this Volume One and show Song paintings. Important and rare work. Collotype preface dated 1909. (A date of 1934 is given at the back of Volume Two not present here). One page advertising afterword in English. Plate captions in Chinese and English. Tatty covers with marks and much creasing at the corners. Somewhat shaky in binding. Internally generally fine. Priced accordingly. Rare.
