This work provides the illustrated travel diary of a Qing official in Shaanxi and Gansu, in a useful format where illustrations and text are matched. The name of the author (seemingly not recorded in the preliminaries of the book in a manner we can trace) is taken from the record in the Research Libraries Group union catalogue and cites the ?Manchu, Yushi, as a Jinshi ('presented scholar') in 1852. The book is a good example of early Chinese lithographic book illustration.
  The book is somewhat worn, especially to the bottom edges. The impression is generally clear, on soft white paper, and the insides are good with some foxing; some illustrations are slightly blurred but mostly good. The original blue cloth case is in poor condition, its book label with some damage. The individual volume book labels are intact. In Chinese only.
