Illustrates and describes the work of the commercial photographer, Yamamoto Sanshichiro, who went to Peking to photograph the aftermath of the Boxer Rebellion and then set up shop in Peking and Tianjin for the first two decades of the 20th century. In addition to photography of the Boxer aftermath and views of Peking and its people, this work also includes lesser-known work by Yamamoto including some of the earliest photography of the Yungang caves. Large illustrations throughout. In Chinese.
