Comprises two 1870s articles extracted from editions of from Le Tour de Monde covering John Thomson's 1870-72 travels in China. The first covers Thomson's travels in mainland China and the second his visit to Formose (Taiwan) which includes illustration of the aboriginal peoples. A good number of illustrations from engravings done from photographs taken by Thomson. Appears to be the first contribution in French on Thomson's seminal photographic journey. Scarce.
