Much black-and-white photographic illustration throughout plus a number of colour plates primarily of butterflies and moths. A good number of pleasingly-executed text drawings. Sowerby was the Honorary Director of the Museum at the time of publication. Published by the Royal Asiatic Society Shanghai Branch. Author's dedication with signature on frontpaper.
