This Song edition was edited and annotated by the Song neo-Confucian philosopher, Zhu Xi. In addition to the Chu Ci, also contains various related works. It was first published in 1235. The work has been superbly translated into English by David Hawkes as 'The Songs of the South'. This 1953 edition was published by the Renmin Wenxue Chubanshe (Peoples Literary Publishing House) in Beijing.
