ZZNYP1 Ordos Museum ed: NONGGENG YOUMU PENGZHUANG WENRONG: E'ERDUOSI TONGSHI CHENLIE. The Impact and Mingling of Agriculture and Nomadism: The Exhibition of the General History of Ordos. 農耕éŠç‰§ç¢°æ’žæ–‡èž : 鄂爾多斯通å²é™³åˆ—. Beijing, 2013. 295 pp. Colour plates throughout. 29x21 cm. Cloth. GBP 100.00 The extraordinary Ordos Museum is located in the city of Ordos in Inner Mongolia. The name 'Ordos' has come to symbolise a type of small bronze (in particular depicting animals) made by nomadic steppe peoples in early times. Not surprisingly, the Museum has a superb collection of such bronzes and other Ordos-related and 'steppe' material. This work shows a fine selection of Ordos bronzes, the majority dating from a time that equates to the Warring States period in China. There is also earlier Neolithic pottery, some gold-plated Ordos bronzes and other small gold objects, Han dynasty bronzes and later ceramics. Illustrated throughout in colour. One page introduction in English, otherwise Chinese text only. Subjects: Archaeology Bronzes Item 588 in List 207.
