The exhibits came from the collections of the National Palace Museum (and thus the former Chinese imperial collection) plus other museums and institutions in Taiwan. The exhibits date from the Tang dynasty onwards with good amounts of early printed material and manuscripts and many of the exhibits are unique and have seldom, if ever, been exhibited before.
