All published. The Jesuit Martini stayed 18 years in China and consulted Chinese sources for this history of China up to the birth of Christ. The three woodcut illustrations in the text depict: 1. The Yijing bagua system; 2. A grouping of ideograms illustrating the development of Chinese writing; 3. An abacus. Second edition published in Amsterdam by Johannen Blaeu. Text in Latin. Contemporary full calf with mark and staining. Title to top of spine partly obscured by staining. Waterstaining to varying degrees to top third of text. Rare. See Lowendahl 120 and 121.
