Illustrates and describes 20 superb examples or early Ming blue-and-white porcelain from the collection of Sir Joseph Hotung (1930-2021). The pieces date from the Yuan dynasty (12) and from the Yongle (5) Xuande (1) and Zhengde (2) reigns of the Ming dynasty. All discussed in exhaustive details and illustrated in full, in multiple views and showing close-up detail. The majority of the pieces have been donated to the British Museum. An excellent addition to the literature on the subject and a fine insight into focussed connoisseurship of Chinese porcelain.
