GBP 200.00 Excellent facsimile of one of the most famous Chinese illustrated books, commissioned by the Kangxi emperor and produced in 1696, captioned with the Emperor's poems on the worthy and technologically interesting agricultural subjects depicted. The artist, Jiao Bingzhen, was employed in the Imperial Board of Astronomy and was one of the first to study Western perspective under the Europeans who also then served the Board.
