GBP 500.00 Huang Yugao (also known as Huang Ze), an early 20th century Chinese artist from Sichuan province, completed this work in 1924. This is its first printing, a Shanghai lithographic work. It has became well-known for its characteristic, vibrant portraits of Buddhist monks and Bodhisattvas in traditional style. Illustrated throughout both volumes. Introductions and list of contents at the start of Volume One. In Chinese. Very rare in this original form. Some wear, tear and slight loss to covers. Foxing inside but generally good.
