GBP 110.00 Well-produced and well-illustrated catalogue of the superb and rarely-seen Five Dynasties Yue kiln celadons known as 'mise' wares. They come from the tomb of Qian Liu (852-932) the first king of the Wuyue kingdom and are held in the Lin'an Museum in Hangzhou close to the tomb site. These mise wares bear resemblance to the ru ware of the Northern Song and were much coveted. Whilst a number of these wares have been published before, the photography here is excellent and allows true appreciation of these sublime pieces. Colour plates throughout. Text in Chinese.
