GBP 40.00 A detailed survey of a stunning Chinese Buddhist stone pagoda with carved and painted decoration and with accompanying stone guardians. The pagoda is about 175 cm in height and contains within four smaller pagodas, made respectively of iron, bronze, silver-gilt and stone. This amazing Buddhist object was taken abroad at an early unspecified date and returned to China in 2007. The large outer pagoda and the four contained within appear to have been made at various times ranging from the Tang through to the Northern Song dynasties.
