Jiuxi (Nine Streams) is an area of forest and streams in the range of hills west of the city of Hangzhou, famous for scenic West Lake and surrounding beautiful scenery. The contemporary print artist, Cao Ou, finds Jiuxi a place of relaxation and, importantly, of creative inspiration. This artist' book is the coalescing of his thoughts and feelings for this special place. It is fair to say that he lets his imagination run free. There is a certain phantasmagoric quality to this work.
An introductory page of text is followed by 14 original full page colour woodblock prints.
Produced in a numbered and signed edition of 30 copies.
Text in Chinese. English translation of introductory text and list of prints provided. Images, list of images and text in English available on request.
