A rather pleasing and naive curiosity from China in the early 1960s. Comprises four sets of stereoscopic slides (7 slides per set) plus a pink plastic binocular viewer. A random collection comprising: 2 sets of different views of West Lake, a set of views of the Great Wall and, very different, a set of exhibition diving. Presumably produced for simple entertainment purposes and giving people the opportunity to see 3-D views of tourist spots at a time when China was very backward and tourist travel well-nigh non-existent, together with other wholesome and healthy events exemplified by the diving set. Enjoyable insight into the leisure enjoyment of the masses in China just prior to the Cultural Revolution. Produced by the Chinese Lantern Slide Factory. Text in Chinese. A rarity and an oddity.
