Much emphasis on the ancient culture of Qinghai and its links to the Silk Road. Includes a section on the Tibetan empire in Qinghai at the time of the Tang dynasty. Illustrated throughout with many interesting, unusual and rarely-seen artefacts from museums in Qinghai and elsewhere in north-west and western China.
