GBP 300.00 A most colourful mirror image Chinese New Year print (nianhua) showing two lively Chinese girls dancing and swinging tasselled strings with coins strung upon them. Each is observed by a three-legged toad. The toads indicate an association with Liu Hai, a Daoist god of wealth and prosperity. The strings with coins further emphasize the wealth association. Thus the whole represents a wish for wealth in the forthcoming year. The text at bottom right reads 'Blocks cut by Wang Taiping and Zhang Chuanxin. China Weifang New Year Print Society'.
