Catalogue of a most interesting exhibition at the Yunnan Provincial Museum in Kunming in 2015 exploring the ancient Tea Road that extended along various routes from Yunnan to Tibet, Qinghai, Inner Mongolia, Southwest China, China proper and Southeast Asia. The Tea Road was a prime route of cultural exchange between south-western and north-west and northern China. The exhibition was divided into sections: The Tea Road in Early Times; Yunnan; Sichuan; Tibet; Qinghai; The Silk Road; The Maritime Silk Road. The exhibits came from major museums in these areas and included many previously-unseen objects relating to tea culture and the Tea Road. The objects date from the Song through to the early 20th century. A final section of the catalogue has a number of related essays. Illustrated throughout in colour. Brief introductions and captions to plates in English. Main text in Chinese. Very hard to obtain. We only have this one copy.
