Catalogue of an exhibition at the Shanghai Museum showing 11 extraordinary late Shang dynasty bronzes unearthed from sites in China's Hunan province. The exhibition was organized to celebrate the reuniting of the body of the highly-important late Shang/early Zhou dynasty 'Min' Fanglei bronze (brought back from abroad) with its lid which has been in the collection of the Hunan Provincial Museum. The bronzes are truly fabulous, a number being of animal shape or bearing animals designs. One famous ding has human mask decoration.
