Reproduces the famous Chinese world map of 1602 compiled and printed in Peking by the Jesuit missionary, Matteo Ricci, at the instruction of the Wanli emperor. Sections of the Chinese map are shown accompanied by a similar section of the map bearing Italian translation of the Chinese text. Slight tears to the margins of a few leaves and plates. All text in Italian. Scarce.
