Catalogue of a beautiful exhibition at the National Palace Museum in Taiwan showing 116 exquisite examples of Song and Yuan celadons that were in the Qing imperial collection. This exhibition is a follow-up to the 2011 exhibition 'Obtaining Refined Enjoyment: The Qianlong Emperor's Taste in Ceramics' and is a more research-oriented exhibition. That said, the exhibits are breathtaking. In sections: Ru Wares and the Northern Song Official Kilns (15 exhibits); Southern Song Official Kilns (51 exhibits); The Longquan Kilns (8); The Crackle of Celadon (42). All exhibits illustrated in full colour plates, nearly all in multiple views and some showing close-up detail. Near dual texts in Chinese and English other than the accompanying essays in Chinese which only have English abstracts.
