Interesting account in words and photographs of China as it was at the turn of the 20th century. Ricalton travelled widely in China and made very keen observations. This work is especially valuable for his observations and photographs of the Boxer Uprising, the Siege of the Legations and the Allied Expeditionary Force sent to the foreigners' aid.
