Illustrated survey of the holdings of the Museum of the Temple of Heaven in Beijing, a site of paramount importance for imperial rituals. The majority of the objects shown are late Qing (Guangxu) highly-coloured monochrome ceramics emulating archaic bronze forms. A wide selection of these are accompanied by a number of bronze ritual objects, mainly from the Qianlong reign of the Qing dynasty. Also a few other objects made from various other materials.
