Details the find of Buddhist statuary excavated in 2013 from two pits in Dayun Temple at Jingshui near the town of Jingchuan in the east of Gansu province in China. The temple has a very long history and Buddhist relics have been found there from 1964 onwards. Some 260 statues were excavated, dating predominantly from the Northern Zhou but also including Northern Wei, Sui, Tang and Song examples. A large selection here illustrated and described. All previously unpublished. It appears that the statues are held in the collection of the Gansu Provincial Cultural Relics and Archaeological Research Institute. Illustrated throughout.
