Lady Fu Hao was a heroine of ancient China, being the wife of a pre-eminent Shang king, Wu Ding, and herself famous as a politician, military leader and shaman. The sheer number of jades found in her tomb at Anyang reflect the wealth of the time and her pre-eminence. A large number are here illustrated in colour. The majority of the jades are very small and are here enlarged in reproduction to show full and intricate detail. Given the involvement of the Capital Museum in Beijing and the similarity of the objects here illustrated to those shown at the major exhibition of jades from the Fu Hao tomb at the Capital Museum in 2016, it may be that this work was produced to accompany that exhibition but it was most certainly not available at the time. All text in Chinese. Hard to obtain.
