Produced to accompany an exhibition in 2014 at the Hunan Provincial Museum in Changsha. The exhibition focussed on imperial porcelains produced at Jingdezhen and dating from the Hongwu, Yongle, Xuande, Chenghua and Zhengde reigns. Practically all the ceramics were excavated from the kiln heaps at Jingdezhen and have been reconstructed. All exhibits from museum collections in Jingdezhen. The Ming ceramics are accompanied by a number of Yuan dynasty prototypes that paved the way for the Ming pieces. Most of the ceramics have been illustrated in previous publications.
