The ceramics are all designated as 'Kina' (China) but there appears to be some Japanese and other far eastern material within. Countess Hallywl collected over 600 items of Chinese and far eastern ceramics between 1880 and 1910, many of the famille rose and famille verte type so popular at the time. The home of Count and Countess Hallywl is located in Stockholm and is now a museum - gifted to the state by the Hallwyls. Following the gift, a listing and description of the collection divided into 67 groupings was produced in a luxurious and very limited edition. These five scarce volumes illustrate and describe the far eastern ceramics in two volumes of text and three volumes of black-and-white collotype plates. Text in Swedish. Very rare.
