Produced to accompany an exhibition in the Gugong Museum, Beijing, of embroidered calligraphy and painting from the imperial collection. The majority of the pieces date from the Qing dynasty, in particular, the Kangxi and Qianlong reigns. Whilst much of the material has been illustrated in volume 52 in the series Complete Collection of Treasures in the Gugong (Gugong Zhen Cang), many of the plates here are much larger, some full page, offering examination of greater detail.
