Wang Xizhi's 'Lanting Xu', composed at a gathering of literati in 353 AD, is regarded as the supreme example of Chinese calligraphy. The original is lost but this version, attributed to Feng Chengsu of the Tang dynasty, is regarded as most closely resembling the original. It is known as the 'Shenlong' version and is held in the Gugong Palace Museum in Beijing. This colour facsimile allows full appreciation of the work and the numerous collectors seals. At the end is a transcription of the text into modern Chinese. All text in Chinese.
