A fascinating report on this extremely important and influential temple of the Northern Wei dynasty, built in 516 A.D. Excavations and surveys took place on and off between 1979 and 1994 and clarified, amongst other things, the architectural layout of the complex. Numerous finds were made including over 1500 fragments of Northern Wei painted sculptures which are well illustrated in the colour and b/w plates. An important survey. Two-page English abstract, otherwise Chinese only. Produced by the Institute of Archaeology, CASS.
